Last Post From the U.S.!

I got to enjoy my early Christmas present yesterday at Disneyland and California Adventure. They redid the park for Christmas! You must be wondering what is the must eat place there?
This was the sole purpose of the trip...Dole Whip Float!!! Amazing Dole Whip soft serve from the Dole Plantation from Hawaii served atop of pineapple juice. Best $5 ever!
Dole Whip soft serve ice cream. I got one of each just to be safe! No matter how cold it gets, this is my must hit destination. Too bad you can't get Dole Whip anywhere else but fear not, I looked it up. You can buy a powder form from Hawaii. You have to mix it up and get an ice cream machine... so if you are willing to put in that much money and work then you can sort of have the real thing at home.

Here are some pictures from the new World of Color show at California Adventure. Best water show ever! That was definitely the best part!

Sanrio 50th Anniversary!

Everyone run, don't walk to McDonald's now and get a Happy Meal! Look at how awesome the toys are! In honor of Sanrio's 50th Anniversary, McDeezy's is now giving out these watches. I just picked up the Badtz Maru one. Actually, the lady handed me a My Melody one and I insisted that she go back inside and bring me a Badtz Maru one. The people at the drive thru also laughed at my request seeing that it was for me and not for a 2 year old. Enjoy McDonald's toys now before they disappear forever. Click here if you haven't heard the news. I'm going back to get the Hello Kitty & Keroppi ones. I'm gonna wear mine tomorrow.

Did you get yours yet?

My Favorite Organic Restaurant in L.A.

I've blogged about this place multiple times before. It's true... I love this place. Go Green Zone! See past Exhibt 1 & Exhibt 2 . I've finally went through most of the items on their menu and found my 2 favorites. I apologize for the I-phone pictures once again. I will be using my camera again. I promise-especially in another week when I'll be in Hong Kong and Singapore eating my heart out.

Sea bass salad with cranberry vinegar sauce.
I order my beef soba substituted with this green noodle made from Molokhia leaf. It's packed with vitamins. It's also Egyptian! How international of me!
A close up of all the organic yummy healthiness.

And of course I got that with an order of Passionfruit Ice Tea that is refillable! Drink up!

My Thanksgiving Day Meals

When I used to celebrate Thanksgiving with my dad, he'd go all out with Thanksgiving food since he liked to cook. My mom, on the other hand tries to avoid Thanksgiving & holidays in general as much as possible because she hates socializing and cooking. She also hates turkey. My bf, on the other hand is about as American as you can get. We went to Du  Par's for Thanksgiving lunch where we didn't have to cook.
Cranberry sauce. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a big fan of it.
 Carrots
 yummy string beans
Mr. Turkey
Mr. Turkey cut up! It was so good. The meat was moist.
My favorite part was the marshmallow yams.
Their stuffing was good. They had a tater tot texture to them.
And for our dessert? A choice of pumpkin pie or apple pie. But why choose? I had both!

And for Thanksgiving dinner with my mother?
I had some bomb ass sashimi. I can't complain.

Pre-Thanksgiving Meal

Finding good asian food in the San Fernando Valley where I live is almost downright impossible. Getting to a decent Vietnamese restaurant takes at least 15 minutes of driving. It was to my surprise then that my friend found a tiny hole in the wall Japanese place that was pretty cheap and delicious! 1/2 off sushi all the time! They even have omakase for $35. Hello Tatsuki!
Look at their awesome tea cups! How can you not love this place?
 Tuna
 Fatty Tuna
Squid Roll. This was delicious. They cut the squid so thin that it wasn't chewy at all! Must order!
 Yellowtail belly
Firecracker Roll. There's some tempura inside the avocado. Delicious. It was fried really well.
Sweet shrimp. I love sweet shrimp. I like it more when they take the head and make it into a soup instead. I ate the brains and everything of course while my friends stared in horror. They were good sports for attempting to eat it though.

I've always driven past this place. I was so surprised by how fresh their sushi was! We only ordered off the 1/2 off menu. 3 people and the bill came out to around $48. Thanks for the treat from my besties. I'm so glad we found it because I'll definitely be going more often. They're not authentic of course like Sasabune, my favorite place but then again Sasabune is a place you can afford to go to about once a year. I am happy to report though that I bought some restaurant.com coupons for Sasabune and will be visiting them soon to use them! Tatsuki is at 21630 Ventura Blvd. Woodland HillsCA 91364.

Food Truck Grades

By now you know my love for chasing down food trucks. If you live in Los Angeles, then you know that food trucks will be getting grades just like the restaurants. Here's my video I made for class. They're already inspected twice a year and will now need to submit their routes in advance to the Health Department. Plus, when they are inspected, the trucks will not be able to do business for the day. I honestly don't care for the grades. If a place gets a C, I'd still be there!
